Gentlemen:
This is a Fire and Life Safety Plan Review and is based on the
1988 editions of the Uniform Fire Code (UFC) and those sections
of the Uniform Building Code (UBC) and Uniform Mechanical Code
(UMC) specifically referencing the fire department, and other
local ordinances and regulations.
Plans are conditionally approved subject to the following item:
1. • Plans referred to and examined by this office contain no
provisions for the alteration or installation of an
automatic sprinkler system. Not less than three sets of
plans for the installation shall be submitted to this
office for approval, prior to installation. UBC 302(b)
2. One set of approved plans bearing the stamps of the
building department issuing the construction permit and
this office must be maintained on the project site
throughout all phases of construction and must be made
available to building and fire inspectors for reference
during required construction inspections. UBC Sec. 303
3. Prior to the use and occupancy of the project (space), a
certificate of occupancy or other written instrument of
approval must be obtained from the building department
issuing the construction permit. UBC Sec. 307

codes, and are approved.
We do not have plans for tenant space automatic sprinkler or mechanical
systems. If either of these systems are to be altered during this project,
please submit plans for review.
You may obtain the building permit to begin work at your convenience. If
you have questions, or if we may be of assistance, please contact us.
