Avoid obstructing access or placing conductors where they may be subjected to strain, Impact, or damage. B. Ground Rods: Drive rods until tops are 2 inches below finished floor or final grade, unless otherwise indicated. 1. Interconnect ground rods with grounding electrode conductor below grade and as otherwise indicated. Make connections without exposing steel or damaging coating, if any. 2. For grounding electrode system, install at least three rods spaced at least one -rod length from each other and located at least the same distance from other grounding electrodes, and connect to the service grounding electrode conductor. C. Test Wells: Ground rod driven through drilled hole in bottom of handhole. Handholes are spec in Division 2 Section °Underground Ducts and Utility Structures,' and shall be at least 12 inches deep, with cover. 1. Test Wells: Install at least one test well for each service, unless otherwise indicated. Install at the ground rod electrically closest to service entrance. Set top of test well flush with finished grade or floor. D. Bonding Straps and Jumpers: Install in locations accessible for inspection and maintenance, except where routed through short lengths of conduit_ 1. Bonding to Structure: Bond straps directly to basic structure, taking care not to penetrate any adjacent parts. 2. Use exothermic- welded connectors for outdoor locations, but if a disconnect -type connection is required, use a bolted clamp. E. Grounding and Bonding for Piping: 1. Metal Water Service Pipe: Install insulated copper grounding conductors, in conduit, from building's main service equipment, or grounding bus, to main metal water service entrances to building. Connect grounding conductors to main metal water service pipes. using a bolted clamp connector or by bolting a lug -type connector to a pipe flange, using one of the lug bolts of the flange. Where a dielectric main water fitting is installed, connect grounding conductor on street side of fitting. Bond metal grounding conductor conduit or sleeve to conductor at each end. 2. Water Meter Piping: Use braided -type bonding jumpers to electrically bypass water meters. Connect to pipe with a bolted connector. F. Bonding Interior Metal Ducts: Bond metal air ducts to equipment grounding conductors of associated fans, blowers, electric heaters, and air cleaners. 3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. Perform the following tests and inspections and prepare test reports: 1. After installing grounding system but before permanent electrical circuits have been energized, test for compliance with requirements. 2. Test completed grounding system at each new or existing location affected by this work where a maximum ground - resistance level is specified, at service disconnect enclosure grounding terminal, and at ground test wells. a. Measure ground resistance not less than two full days after last trace of precipitation and without soil being moistened by any means other than natural drainage or seepage and without chemical treatment or other artificial means of reducing natural ground resistance. b. The covers will be screw covers. All exterior fasteners are stainless steel. The copper bus for the phases will be 4 pieces of Vs x 5 copper tin plated per phase and the ground will be a copper bus bar that is Vs x 3 and then wired into the switch gear via conduit and cable.. This enclosure will be rated for 4000amps @ 480V. Refer to drawing 0400 - 0040 -00 rev 00 for details. The enclosure will be a 2 unit system that will be assembled together at the site. The first unit will be the tap section for the 12 — 500MCM wires per phase. This enclosure will have a temporary cover until the second unit is attached in the final assembly. The second section will have the joining plates to attach the buss work to the tap section and we will supply the insulated braided copper parts as well. The braided copper will require 2 per phase for A,B,C and the neutral, as mentioned above the ground will be cabled. We will need to be provided more accurate dimensions on the position of the wall, floor and termination enclosure. You will need to remove the bottom lip from the existing termination enclosure so that the new.proposedequipment will work. Measurements are to be provided by the customer for reference of existing gear. • THIS QUOTE DOES NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE QUOTE.
