The applicant is proposing to build a two story office building with a cedar shingle exterior. Any mechanical equipment should be screened • from view. .' The submission conforms to the guidelines set out in the general plan and program. . A iandscape and irrigation plan has been submitted. The landscape plan should be revised to delete plantings on the 12 foot wide emergency fire access, a chain or similar remedy should be installed to exclude car traffic. Because of the heavily wooded nature of the ' site a tree surgeon has been retained by the applicant. Landscape V islands and parking areas may be adjusted in order to allow preser= . , vation of trees. A pedestrian path was required along the perimeter of the 72nd ' Business Center. A permanent asphalt path will be constructed upon completion of the entire project. Business Center, I would like to make the following recommendations and suggestions. All small trees, such as Maple*, Oak, and those trees which are undesirable regardless of size, such as the Alder, dead or dangerous Fir and Oak, should be removed. (*exception: selevtive Vine Maple) These trees are of poor species, and will not adjust to construction trauma. During the initial clearing of the building site, the emphasis should be in exercising extreme care with work on the outside perimeter. Much of the ground around the building has excellent native ground cover and some small desirable trees that would be nice to save if possible. The location of trees as shown on the site plan, are not quite accurate, and we are not able to give exact locations.
