Field Condition: - - Units against the wall are anchored only at the top (via a continuous angle screwed to each wall stud, then fastened to the top shelf). There is no other anchorage. Modifications: 1) Delete note 5/MY -1 2) Fasten front posts per detail 6/MX -9. Rear posts need not be anchored. Justification The top fastening is satisfactory (the forces are nominal and distributed to adjacent units as well by the top tie). While, the slotted angle is strong enough to resist the entire OTM of the wall unit, and thereby eliminates the need to anchor the base, it would also exert 5.1/12 = 425 lbs of vertical load on the shelf front corner connection. This • connection is refractory to analysis, and I have no testing for it to this high a load. Accordingly, the units still need fastening near the base for shear. This provides it. Mobile Media will be installing their stock room shelving in Phase D only which is the Southwest side of the store. I have attached the floor plan just for this section but can give you the entire floor if necessary. The boxes that start with the letter "5" in rooms 204, 203, 202B, and 202A designate where our shelving will be placed. You will notice each "5" block has a different code. I am also attaching the shelving spec sheet which will allow you to look up each code and see the shelving height and specifications for that particular unit. The third attachment will be a spec of the steel shelving unit itself. Please call me immediately if you have any questions or need anything else: I am on vacation Monday 8/11 and out of town on business 8/12, so hopefully today or tomorrow we can resolve any issues.
