MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS
PROJECT: Tetra Plastics Facility

Ventilation
All rooftop equipment to be equipped with outside air economizers to
provide 20 cfm of outside air for each occupant during occupied hours.
Controls
Rooftop AC units to be controlled by programmable thermostats located in
the space served. Thermostats to provide for unoccupied hour cooling
setup and heating setback. Units that exceed 2000 cfm of air delivery will
be equipped with return air smoke detectors to provide automatic
shutdown if smoke is present.
Equipment Identification
All rooftop units and gas meter to be permanently identified as to space
served.
Restroom Exhaust
Restrooms to be provided with exhaust fans to provide in excess of 4 air
changes per hour for room ventilation. Fans to discharge at roof at least
10 feet from nearest rooftop unit fresh air hood. Fans to be controlled by
switches at room entry.
Gas Piping
All piping material to be new and of the appropriate construction for use
on 2 psi gas system. Connections at units to include AGA rated shutoff
cocks and regulators if required by the equipment.
Equipment
All equipment to meet the applicable required codes including UL /CSA
listing and AGA rating for gas fired equipment. Heating equipment to be
provided with automatic controls to shut off the fuel supply in the event of
pilot or ignition failure.
Electrical
All roof mounted equipment to be provided wth disconnects and have a
120 volt receptacle within 25 feet. Low voltage wiring shall be installed in
a manner to prevent physical damage.
