Reference: GeoPaoific Engineeing Inc., Soil Engineer's Summary at Conolusion of Earthwork,
Thornwood City of Tigard, Oregon, dated March 16, 2003. ,
GeoPacific Engineer, Jim irnbrle, has visited the above- referenced lot this morning, The purpose of
our ViSit was primarily to review the foundation excavation subgrade, and tooting proximity to existing
rockery_ retaining walls, The nearest adja0ent fooling (southwest corner) for the subject residence is
approximately 5 feet from the back of a 6 -foot tall rockery wall; the footing bottom is approximately 1
foot below the top of the wall. At this distance, the foundation is Just at a 1H;1V plane from the back of
the rockery wail.
The footing subgrade hand probed stiff to very stiff after removal of the upper 6 to 12 inches of
existing' soils, with one deepened area about 3 feet deep towards the center rear of the proposed
residence. We do no know what was removed from this area, but the current subgrade is adequate
for spread foundation support. Based on our observations, the foundation subgrade and excavation
setbacks-are acceptable for support of the proposed single•famlfy home, 'A maximum of one foot of fill
may be placed above the top of the rockery wall between the and the foundation. • ,
