The attached 3 sets of revised drawings are resubmitted for your approval and release of permit.
The comments have been addressed on the drawings and clouded for identification. The
following is a summary of corrective actions.
Comment 1: The 2 exit must have panic hardware and comply with all applicable A.D.A.
requirements.
Response: Acknowledged. In addition, we have added a 'Hallway' from the sales to the rear
exit as outlined in your letter of March 4, 2002. See sheet A3 for
Comment 2: Please contact the Building Department reviewer regarding the Electrical Layout
of the proposed space. There are issues regarding the Mezzanine "storage area"
in the ceiling of the proposed space and its effect on the Electrical Layout.
Response: Exit light requirements have been modified and are shown on sheet E2.

RE: "Radio Shack" Tenant improvement at Washington Square

The City of Tigard Building Division has reviewed the submitted building plans for the above
referenced address in accordance with the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), 1998
edition and the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition as amended by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
Washington Square Mall was constructed prior to the building code addressing smoke control
and - fire separations between tenants in mall structures. Hence an exiting and life safety plan has
been developed until such time the project can be brought into compliance with codes.
In compliance with the approved exiting plan with Washington Square and City of Tigard.
All tenants spaces . regardless of occupant load shall have direct access to a minimum of two
exits. One exit shall be to the mall and the second exit shall be to the "mall exit corridor ". When
- a storage room is located at the rear of the tenant space. Exit shall be by means of a "hallway"
from the sales area to the mall exit corridor. Hallways shall be maintained as exits. Exit signage ,
and exit illumination is required. Painted fire lanes are not allowed or an approved equal.
Please submit revised sheets to the plans showing compliance with items noted above.
