Dear Mr. Rick Bolen
I have been commissioned by Alan and Julie James to prepare drawings and construction documents for remodel of
the basement area of their residence at 12875 SW Watkins St., Tigard, OR into occupied space.
At this time the job is in the rough framing stage and a stop work order has been placed on the residence for lack of
a building permit. The James's have commissioned me to provide consulting services and construction documents
to obtain the structural building permit. In our conversation on 1/12/01 you requested a letter from me verifying •
work is in progress on the plans. This letter is prepared to verify that as of 1/12/01 work is in progress on plans
and construction documents to obtain a structural permit. You also stated that as long as work is in progress to •
obtain a permit no financial penalties will be assessed against this project and there is no specific limitation on time
required to submit plans at this point.
I will be contacting you in about one week to review the updated plans prior to finalization. Also, after I lay out the
drawings and review the structure this week I will contact you to request removing the stop work order so electrical
work can proceed.
