The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) 2004 edition;
National Fire Protection Association, Standard 13 (NFPA 13)2006 edition and the State of Oregon Fire
Code (OFC) 2004 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following.
GENERAL
1. The clearance between the deflector and the top of storage shall be 18 inches or greater. Section
8.6.6.1 NFPA 13. The distance shall be increased to 36 inches for Large Drop sprinkler heads.

2. Sprinklers shall be located a minimum of 4 inches from walls and spaced not less than 6 feet on
center. Sections 8.6.3.3 & 8.6.3.4.1 NFPA 13.
3. Clearances shall be provided around all piping extending through platforms, foundations, walls and
floors. The diameter of the hole shall be 2 inches larger than the penetrating pipe for pipe sizes 1
inch through 3 ' ,'2 inches. The diameter of the hole shall be 4 inches larger than the penetrating
pipe for pipe sizes 4 inches and larger. Sections 9.3.4.1 & 9.3.4.2 NFPA 13.
4. Field inspector will verify coverage in and around new fixtures and lights: Provide 4 in. clearance to
all walls and soffits and no more than 24 in. armovers without a brace.
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained
on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of
construction. 106.4.2 OSSC
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed City of
Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of Tigard in tracking and
• processing the documents.
