Rd Occupant Load: 20 Area: 609 Sq Ft Stories: 1 The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC) 2002 edition; The submitted plans are approved subject to the following. 1. Smoke detectors shall be installed in return air systems with a design capacity greater than 2000 cfm. Upon activation, the smoke detector shall shut down the air distribution system. Smoke detectors shall be connected to a fire alarm system and shall activate an audible and visible alarm at a constantly attended location. 606.2, 606.4 & 606.4.1 OMSC 2. Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms of their approval, in accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufacturer's installation instructions and this code. Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. OMSC 304.1 3. A cooling tower used in conjunction with an air conditioning appliance shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. OMSC 908.1 4. Hydronic piping systems other than ground source heat pump loop systems shall be tested hydrostatically at one and one half times the maximum system design pressure, but not less than 100 psi (689 kPa). The duration of each test shall be not less than 15 minutes. 1208.1 OMSC 5. The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems. Where floors, walls, ceilings or any other portion of the building or structure are required to be altered or replaced in the process of installing or repairing any system, the building or structure shall be left in a safe structural condition in accordance with the Building 13125 SW Hall Blvd., Tigard, OR 97223 (503) 639 -4171 TDD (503) 684 -2772 Code. The cutting, notching and boring of framing members shall comply with OMSC • 302 Sections 302.3.1 through 302.5.3. 6. Ductwork shall be supported in accordance with Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, Inc. (SMACNA) 7. Equipment and appliances regulated by this code requiring electrical connections shall have a positive means of disconnect in accordance with the Electrical Code. 301.7 OMSC S. Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without removal of permanent construction. 306.1 OMSC 9. Condensate from cooling coils or evaporators shall be collected and discharged to an approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. 307.1 OMSC 10. Appliances serving different areas of a building other than where they are installed shall be permanently marked in an approved manner that uniquely identifies the appliance and the area it serves. 304.10 OMSC Mercury Thermostats. The State of Oregon prohibits the installation of thermostats that contain mercury in commercial and residential buildings. "In accordance with ORS 455.355, the disposal of thermostats that contain mercury shall be in accordance with programs established by thermostat manufacturers, their representative or distributor, or by delivery to sites that will ensure that the mercury does not become part of the solid waste stream or wastewater." Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the j enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal.
