The submitted plans are approved subject to the following. General requirements 1. Upon completion of the installation, fire detection and alarm systems shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the installation standards and as approved by the Building Official. The City of Tigard, Building Inspector shall be notified before any required acceptance testing. It shall be unlawful to occupy any portion of the building until the detection and alarm systems have been tested. Section 901.5 OFC 2. Connections to the light and power service shall be on a dedicated branch circuit. The circuit and connections shall be mechanically protected. The circuit disconnecting means shall have a red marking, shall be accessible only to authorized personnel, and shall be identified as "FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT CONTROL ". Section 4.4.1.4 NFPA 72. 3. Manual Fire Alarm activation devices shall be mounted a minimum of 42 inches and a maximum of 48 inches measured vertically from the floor to the activating handle or lever of the device. Section 907.4.2 OFC. 4. Visual alarms shall be located not less than 80 inches and not more than 96 inches above the floor level. When a low ceiling exists, the visual alarm shall be mounted at least 6 inches below the ceiling. Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite.
