1. Posts are 4 "x4" pressure treated lumber, about 10' long. Posts are nailed into brackets in poured
concrete blocks (about l'xl'x1') Original concrete blocks and brackets will be reused.
2. Ledger is original, non - pressure treated 2x10. Original hangers will be reused to prevent damage to
ledger which would be caused by removal. Original ledger is nailed to wall about every 4 ". Lag bolts
may be added if any structural weakness found.
3. Joists are 2 "x8" pressure treated lumber, separated at 16" on center.
4 Rim joist is 2 "x10" pressure treated lumber. Joist farthest from house on main deck section is doubled
2 "x10 ".
5. Cross -piece (believed added to reduce deck racking), is 2 "x6" pressure treated lumber, nailed to each
joist it crosses.
6. Shorter posts in brackets in manufactured pier blocks. Originally, they were setting on blocks without
brackets. I will replace with bracketed blocks. Large step is created by using a 4 "x6" post notched to
provide support for step.
7.. 4 "x4" pressure treated lumber, with lag bolts.
8. Joists from house along walkway are 2 "x10" pressure treated lumber.
9. Cross pieces are 2 "x6" sections with hangers.
10. Pickets are 2 "x2" cedar. Original pickets were 6" apart. Will make pickets 4" apart.
11. Railing is 2 "x6" clear cedar.
Not Shown:
Decking material is tight -knot cedar "Pro- Deck" (2 "x6" approx. Pro -Deck is slightly thinner and grooved
to reduce cupping).
