Project: Renovate Restaurant Exterior by installing Stone by Owens Coming, Stucco, Eifs, Hardy Plank Siding on the building with Plywood Soffit, Includes demo, haul away, dry rot repairs and Painting, On said property in accordance with the photo and specifications set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. 2. Contract Price. There are alternative methods. An important concept to follow is the "shingle" step approach. This principle has all upper layers overlaping onto the lower layers of weather - resistive protection materials. Head Flashings of Window Head flashings are recommended (depending on building design). End -dams are recommended on head flashings to prevent moisture from entering behind the stucco jamb -head intersection. End -dams shall be compatible with the head flashing material. • End -dams may be a flexible sealant • End -dams may be an upturned metal edge • End -dams may be a perfabricated Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Sill Pans • It is recommended that storefront type (flangeless) windows be installed with a sill pan flashing. • It is recommended that sill pan flashing have an up turned back edge and end -dams to prevent moisture from entering the wall cavity. NOTE: This guide is for stucco, but proper methods of window flashing are very important. Flashing windows and their installation are the work of others and not that of the stucco contractor. NOTE: Sections of flashing or trim accessories that butt each other (at corners or another condition) need to be lapped, caulked, or have a strip of self - adhering membrane over the joints. This is to prevent moisture from getting to the building structure.
