Dear Mr. Krueger:
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today regarding the building permit application
and plan submittal process for the City of Tigard.
As I explained, the city does not currently have standard procedures in place to accept permit
applications and construction plans for review via email. We understand that this is an important
service for our customers and we are working on an enhancing our current permit tracking
system to allow electronic document review in 2013.
In the meantime, we will accept permit applications and building plans for review to be faxed to
the building division at 503-598-1960. However, if the delivered product is not clearly legible
for plan review, duplication and archiving, we will contact you to resubmit the documents.
If you fax in one set of building plans, we will make one additional copy and collect fees in the
building permit at $0.25 per page. We understand that you prefer the issued permits be mailed to
you and we will collect an administrative fee in the building permit at a flat rate of $5.00. This is
not a regular service that we provide so it would be helpful for permit staff if you could please
indicate on the permit application that you want the issued permit mailed to you.
Your previous permit submittals were completed on outdated forms. For your convenience, I
have included a copy of the current building and electrical permit applications and payment
authorization form. You may also find these on our website at www.tigard-or.gov.

and look forward to providing solutions to improve customer service.
