Resolution No. 12-19 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON TIGARD CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 12-16i A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A TRANSPORTATION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE TIGARD TRIANGLE AREA MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, the Tigard Triangle has been identified through the Tigard High Capacity Land Use Plan as a potential station community location along the SW Corridor (a transit corridor running from Portland to Sherwood in the vicinity of Barbur Boulevard/OR Highway 99/Pacific Highway);and WHEREAS, the 2012 City Council goal No. 1, Implement the Comprehensive Plan through code revisions including, contributing to the SW Corridor Plan by adopting Tigard's land use policies and designations and identifying priorities for high-capacity transit (HCT) station location alternatives by mid-2012 and determining the economic development opportunities, development plan, city policies and regulations needed to position the Tigard Triangle as an HCT station location,and WHEREAS,the Tigard Triangle has been identified through the Tigard HCT Land Use Plan as an area that can provide the mix of uses and redevelopment sites to support high capacity transit; WHEREAS, achievement of the above Council goal would be greatly furthered by the development of a detailed Tigard Triangle Area Master Plan that addresses a wide range of land use, financial,public facilities and transportation and economic/market factors , WHEREAS preparation and adoption of the Tigard Triangle Area Plan is eligible for the State's Transportation and Growth Management (TGM) grant program, which provides funding to local governments in Oregon to carry out transportation and land use planning activities;and WHEREAS the requested grant amount is up to $200,000 and the city is responsible for providing a minimum of 11 % of that amount as a local match which may include in-kind staff time, direct financial contribution or other forms of documentable support. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that: SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its support of completing a Tigard Triangle Area master Plan and authorizes submission of a TGM grant application for state funding assistance SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide 11 percent local match of the grant funds as described above RESOLUTION NO. 12- C� Page 1 SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
