The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
01) 1999 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following.
1. Each appliance shall be provided with a shutoff valve separate from the appliance.
The shutoff valve shall be located in the same room and within six feet of the
appliance served. Access shall be provided to the shutoff valve. C409.5 OMSC
2. Equipment and appliances regulated by this code requiring electrical connections
shall have a positive means of disconnect in accordance with the Electrical Code.
301.7 OMSC
3. Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without
removal of permanent construction. 306.1 OMSC
4. Appliances installed on roofs or elevated structures exceeding 16 feet in height shall
be provided with a permanent means of access grade or floor level. 306.5 OMSC
5. Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the jobsite at the time of
inspection. 304.1 OMSC
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC

BRIAN BLALOCK:
Thank you for your letter of January 5, 2004, in forming me of additional
changes needed to the exhaust system and make up air system for our catering
business on Pfaffle Street.
After further review, we have found the following information regarding
our hood system. The hood is manufactured by Gaylord Industries, model
# GX- BDL- MAR -48. The minimum exhaust volume CFM for this unit is 2375.
Because our current exhaust system is less than this, we have purchased a new unit
made by Centri- Master, model #PNU135RGHI. The CFM performance on this new
unit is 2457.
The make up air unit is made by Floaire, model #SA -10, with CFM
capacity of 2200, which is within 80% guidelines of the exhaust system.
Let me know if you have any further questions or requirements 5egvding
our exhaust system with make up air.

The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
01) 1999 edition. The following information is required prior to issuance of a Mechanical
Permit.
1. The exhaust system indicated on the drawings does not comply with section 507.13.3
OMSC. The hood indicated requires an exhaust system capable of exhausting 2850
CFM minimum. Revise plans and provide an exhaust system of adequate size.
2. The Make -up air system shall be revised in order to match the new exhaust system as
required in item #1 above. Section 508.1 OMSC. Revise plans and provide a make -up
air system of adequate size.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.
