The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
. 01) 1999 edition. The submitted plans are approvedsubject to the following.
DEFERRED
• An automatic fire suppression system shall be provided to protect the surface of the
heat - processing appliances and the exhaust system serving the appliances, section
509.2 OMSC. The suppression system design shall be submitted for review and
approved prior to requesting final inspection of the exhaust hood system.
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
1. Ducts exposed to the outside atmosphere shall be protected against corrosion in an
approved manner. 506.2 OMSC
2. A Performance Test shall be conducted upon completion and before final approval of
the installation of the ventilation system. The performance test shall verify the rate of
airflow to be in compliance with the approved plans. 507.17 OMSC
3. The exhaust and make -up air system shall be electronically interlocked to ensure that
the make -up air is provided whenever the exhaust system is in operation. 508.1

} 2. Appliances shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair or replacement without
removal of permanent construction. 306.1 OMSC
3. Manufacturer's installation instructions shall be available on the jobsite at the time of

4. Condensate from cooling coils or evaporators shall be collected and discharged to an
approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. 307.1 OMSC
• FYI An additional permit shall be required for the installation of the fire suppression
system, the cooking equipment and the gas piping serving the equipment.
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC

enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.

This review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC)
The revised drawings indicate a roof supported exhaust fan. The exhaust fan was not
indicated at this location on the first submittal. The new location requires the following
information and is required prior to the issuance of the Mechanical Permit.
1. Cleanouts both vertical and horizontal shall be provided as indicated in section
506.3.10 & 506.3.11.OMSC. Indicate cleanout locations on the plans.
2. The exhaust fan is indicated as being supported by "4" x 4" x 6' long stickers ".
Clarify the material and provide lateral bracing as required by section 301.16 OMSC.
Construction details are required.
3. The exhaust fan is within 10 feet of the edge of an elevated surface. Provide plans
indicating the guards and their location, including construction details. See section
304.9 OMSC for guard requirements.

The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC)
1998 edition; the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (OMSC) 2002 edition and the
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99 -01) 1999 edition. The following
information is required prior to the issuance of the Mechanical Permit.
1. Provide a Site Plan to indicate the location of the building on the property. The site
plan shall be drawn to scale with dimensions indicating the distance to all property
lines. The exhaust duct locations shall be indicated on the site plan.
2. Provide equipment cut sheets for the mechanical equipment being used on the project.
3. Provide a design and structural calculations for the angle braces indicated on the
plans that support the exhaust and make -up air fans.'The design shall include the
attachment of the angle braces to the structure.
4. Clarify the structural support for the Type 1 /class "A" Gaylord hood indicated on the
plans. Include connection to existing structural components.
5. The application indicates a different type of use for the building. The new use will
require an application for a change of use. Please complete and return the enclosed
Building Permit Application to initiate the change of use process. The following
items are required so that the City of Tigard can review and approve the change of
use application.
• Provide a scale floor plan of the building indicating any walls that will be removed or
constructed for the project.
