AUG 2 S 2006 560 SW Maple ST CITY OF TIGARD Hillsboro, OR 97123 BUILDING DIVISION Re: Re -roof Evaluation 22265 SW Main St Tigard, OR Dear John: As requested, we have performed a re-roof evaluation oh the above -noted project. The purpose of this Investigation was to determine whether a new roofing system weighing approximately 1.7psf could be added to the existing structure. As we understand, the existing building currently has one existing roof in place that weights approximately 2.5psf. The existing building appears to have been constructed in the 1940's. The wood • roof structure is comprised of rough sawn 2x16 ceiling joist at 16 inches on center that span as far as 24ft. The ceiling joists In turn support 2x8roof rafters as mid span, which are at 16 inches on center, The intermediate support structures consist of heavy timber trusses and bearing walls. Based on our review of the existing roof structure the building is capable of supporting the additional roof as proposed. Please note that do to the age of the building no additional loads are recommended without further analysis. Furthermore, no calculations with regards to wind or seismic forces were performed in our analysis: Stocking of roofing materials on roof is also beyond the scope of this report.
