Template Kits •
Hardy Frame Template Kits (HFTK) include (1) single use Template (HFT), cop
(2) ASTM A 36 all thread hold down bolts (with 1 -plate washer and 2 -nuts
on the embed end of each bolt), the appropriate number of shear bolts, [1]
and all washers and nuts for connecting the Panel or Brace Frame at slab - ' ea cm
installations. Template Kits for Panels also include (1) Hardy Frame® Bolt = o
Brace for attachment to the embed end of the hold down bolts. Template kits _-
are intended for installation at a slab or curb. When ordering kits with a 7/8 inch _ _

d iameter HD the bolt length supplied is 27 inches. When ordering kits with a = -

through the floor system. Also the shear bolts, which are included in the Kit, r

transfer Is accomplished by screwing the base of the product into the rim ` F , _

Bearing Plate

The Hardy Frame Bearing Plate (HFBP) is designed for use under Panels �
(only) being installed on floor systems. The Bearing Plate is a steel bar that
measures 3 /a " thick x 3 -lh" wide, the length is 6" greater than the width of •
the Panel being installed. The purpose of the Bearing Plate is to increase the A •
bearing area below the Panel in order to distribute compression loads over a �'_= - -
C larger surface area of the material below. A second purpose of the Bearing - !
Plate is to provide additional screw holes, which may be necessary for the =
.
shear transfer of higher loads. �! -
Base Extension .. ;/
The Hardy Frame Base Extension (HFBX) is designed to provide a connection
from Hardy Frame® Panels and Brace Frames to adjacent wood mudsills and ;
vertical members. The product is a 3 - W x 3 - 9 /16" x 3 - W U - shape 14 - gage x� t w\ ,
channel that is 9" long. To install, locate the end with the "break-away tab
under the bottom corner of the Panel or Frame that will have adjacent wood =± = ! ` ' s._
framing members. The HFBX may be located up to 6 - /a" beyond the edge of -• _ `, i •. t

Hardy Frame® Reducer
The new Hardy Frame Reducer (HFR) allows Panels with a 1 -1/8" hold down
hole to be installed on 7/8" diameter hold down bolts. The Reducer has a
structural washer for a 7/8 Inch diameter bolt tack welded to a structural steel
tube that has a 7/8" inside diameter and 1 -1/8" outside diameter. With the _ - . r '4 ,
washer end positioned upward, the Reducer Is placed over the 7/8" bolt and
the structural tube Is fit into the base of the Panel, closing the gap between � r: -
• the bolt and the oversized hole. Warning: Reducers do not change structural r' ° ?
