TIGARD CITY COUNCIL
MEETING DATE: April 25, 2009

I. Call to Order
Council President Wilson called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m
Present: Council President Wilson, Councilors Buehner and Webb
Absent: Mayor Dirksen and Councilor Henderson
Also Present: City Recorder Wheatley
II. Council President Wilson read the April 25,2009 letter from Mayor Dirksen to Mr. Curtis
Tigard wishing Mr. Tigard a happy 100`x' birthday. A copy of the letter is attached as Exhibit A-
111. Council President Wilson introduced a proposed resolution to name the recently purchased
property at 10310 SW Canterbury Lane as "East Butte Heritage Park." This park is located
adjacent to the historic John Tigard House. In 1852,the Tigard area was known as East Butte.
As the community reflects on the heritage of the Tigard family and the history of the Tigard
area,the City Council thought this occasion would be a fitting time to name the City's newest
park.
Motion by Council President Wilson,seconded by Councilor Buehner,to adopt Resolution No.
09-21.
RESOLUTION NO. 09-21 - A RESOLUTION NAMING THE RECENTLY
PURCHASED SURPLUS PROPERTY AT 10310 SW CANTERBURY LANE AS "EAST
BUTTE HERITAGE PARK."
The motion was approved by a unanimous vote of City Council present.
