City Council Packet - 08/19/1968 SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING August 19, 1968 7;30 P.M, AGENDA: FANNO CREEK Inter-ceptor TIGARD CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 19, 1968, 7:30 P.M, 1. ROLL CALL Present: Mayor E.G. Kyle, Councilmen Floyd H. Bergmann, Robert C. Moore, Harvey L. Knauss; Fred A. Anderson, City Attorney; Keith C. Thompson, Director of Public Works; Doris Hartig, City Recorder. Absent: W. Del Ball 2. Mayor Kyle called special meeting to discuss with Council serious problem which has arisen regarding Fenno Crsek Sewers interceptor. The Oregon State Sanitary Authority has placed a 60 day moritorium on all sewer_connections in Eastern Washington County, however, the City of Tigard is not immediately effected. Washington County,along with 13 other-jurisdictionsiagreed to go into a interceptor contract andrhave submitted an application to the Department of Housing and Development. No action has been taken on this applicationand at a recent CRAG meeting,a motion was passed requesting Governor and State Legislature to intervene, asking HUD to grant aid as quickly as possible for 702 study. In order to expedite matter, it was suggested study be financed by a loan from the local jurisdictions. Council and Mayor discussed problem at lenath and unanimously agreed to' act `in whatever way they could to alleviate this serious problem. 3. Attorney Anderson requested Council's direction with respect to the Davison zone change litigation. Motion by,Councilman Moore to defend case with the City paying 508 of' legal;fees. Motion seconded by Councilman Bergmann. Approved by unanimous vote of Council present. 4. Council was informed the road to the Cook Park had been barricaded by the Murphy's August 16,1968. Reason given by Murphy's for closing the road was that their dog was killed by a car. Attorney Anderson'commented Murphy's had no right to close road. Mayor Kyle requested Attorney to take care of situation. Meeting Adjourned 8:30 P.M. ATTEST Ma Cty Reco er
