MARCH 26, 1968, 8:00 P.M.
1. Present: Mayor E. G. Kyle, Councilmen Floyd H. ,Bergmann,
Harvey L. Knauss.
Committee Members: Dallas Schalk, Louis Girod,
Betty Jack, Ben Brazauski and Dan Larsen
City Administrator Robert K. Logan, Chief of Police
Hugh H. Wilkinson, Doris Hartig, City Recorder and
Mike Gleason, Planner
2, .Meeting called to order by Mayor Kyle who requested Budget Committee
elect a Chairman and Secretary.
(a) Motion by Mr. Girod and seconded by Mrs. Jack to appoint
Mr. Larsen Chairman of Budget Committee,
Approved by unanimous vote of Committee present.
(b) Motion by Councilman Bergmann and seconded by Mr. Larsen
to appoint Mrs. Jack as secretary.
Approved by unanimous vote of Committee present.
(c) Meeting was turned over to Chairman Larsen
3. City Administrator reviewed budget'detail and tax base with
committee.
4. Motion by Mayor Kyle to accept General Fund Budget and recommend
to Tigard City Council to hold a tax base election in conjunction
with primary election on a_special city ballot May 28, 1969. Motion
seconded, by Mr. Brazauski.
Councilman Bergmann suggested some revisions in salaries,
particularly in the Police Department, before recommending
budget. Committee discussed adjusting,the salaries and requested
City Administrator to present a revised salary schedule for
consideration. Committee suggested raising the.'tax base to
$89,,753.23 and use the difference for salary adjustments.
Mayor Kyle withdrew his motion to recommend budget.
