Upon call for vote the motion was unanimously approved by Council, all members being present. Councilman Klc._'.: In working with the Planning Commission, we have attempted to make a fire s _d: of the fire zoning code. At the present time, all. r .::z,? areas are in Fire Zone 3. The new Fire Chief 'ire Marshall are making a study of the fire zoning, and this study should be completed by next week. Councilman Shinn I would like to recommend to Cc+x?icil that wa hire John Robert Murley as a Patrolman at starting salary of $420.00 per month, to become ers a July 1, 1965. Councilman Woodard: I move that we hire John Robert Murley as a Patrolman at a starting salary of $420.00 per month, to begin work on July 1, 1965. Motion seconded by Council- man.Bergmann. Upon call for vote the motion was unanimously approved by Council, all members being present Mayor Kyle Mr. Meigs, City Engineer, has advised the City that the State Sanitary Authority has approved our grant in the amount of $16,590.00 for a Pumping Station in the Bonita Area. Some time ago the Planning and Zoning Commission asked the City Council to outline a policy in regard to annexation. ;I have a draft of that policy (reading draft) . Councilman Klock: .I move that we advise the' Planni.:' and Zoning Commission of the policy concerning the`annex- ation. Motion seconded by Councilman'Bergmann. 'Upon call for vote the motion was unanimously approved by Council, all;members being present. Mayor Kyle: In front of the Tigard Cleaners lwhere'.North- west%Natural;Gas did some excavating there is a water leak. Mr. Roney, Plant Superintendent, has checked the sewer in that vicinity and the'sewer is not plugged. The Water 'District has been contacted, and they feel that the City' is responsible since we issued the permit. Councilman Klock suggested that we write to the Water District and let them take care of this problem. Mayor Kyle: ';I have a request from Mr. Roney, Pla:v" Super- intendent, to purchase a lawn mower at a cost of IF6oc. '^. Mayor Kyle and Council discussed the lawn mower, ;ana ib was decided that Council would not take any action on the Sawn mower at this:time. Attorney Anderson: You will recall that the City received a deed dedication which was recorded with respect to a roadway taking off from Garden Place, and I would suggest that the City accept this Deed of Dedication. Ande-son sL7.9jF-E charges in the agreement, Councilman Xlock: 1 move that we app:r,.va the changes in the contract as proposed by the City ti -ney, r-, rdopt a Resolution R-65-1 whereas the State of cagon e by and through the State Highway Commission•, has czc-st�x/ to be prepared and submitted through the City of Tigaxµ ar: agreement_ providing for the impro =::vent of Beaverton- Tigard Highway Number 44 within said City, and -rohrreas said agreement has been read in full to the Council of said City and approved as submitted. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the 'City of Tigard that the Mayor and Recorder are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City.. The foregoing resolution was dulyadoptedby the Council of the City , of Tigard on the 28th day of ;Tune 1965. Motion seconded by Councilman Bergmann. Upon call for vote the motion was unanimously approved, all members being present. Councilman Shinni I have received a letter from Fannie and Ruth Rippey regarding the high ,reeds growing in bask of the Tigard Plaza. I would like to have the C-4- Recorder telephone the Fire Marshall and ask him •te &Lk.@- care.of this, Councilman Klock suggested that when lwa have complaints of this nature, we should have the Police Officer check the complaint before taking action_ Councilman Bergmann. The Tigard_Planning and Zoning Commission shall not as boder initiate an-�T annexation programs. 2. The Tigard Planning and Zoning Commission shall not advise any persons wishing to annex to the City of Tigard: on the possibilities of extending any cit-,r services to the proposed area. 3. The Tigard Planning and Zoning Commission shall adviseany interested parties wishing to annex to the City their views on zoning in the area to be annexed. 4 The Tigard Planning and Zoning Commission shall at the direction of the Tigard City Council cooperate with any party or parties wishing to annex to the City up to and including their full scope of responsibilities.' 5.
