City Council Packet - 10/18/1963 TIGARD CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF MEETING OCTOBER 18, 1963 Present: Mayor E. A. Woodard; Councilmen F. J. Cooper; F. H. Bergmann and Attorney F. A. Anderson, Councilmen N. E. Johnson and C. E. Klock, Sr. were absent. This special meeting washeldOctober 18th,- 1963 by call of Mayor E. A. Woodard, each Councilman within the City having been notified more than 3 hours prior to the meeting. Meeting called to order by Mayor Woodard at 7:30 P. M. Mayor Woodard: We would like to clear first the matter of the Lone Oak Restaurant. I received a letter from the Planning and Zoning Commission, Mr. Phillips, President, reading as -follows "The Planning and Zoning Commission of Tigard recom- mends to the City Council of the City of Tigard, that a variance be granted to Mr. Clarence J. Hess, operating as the Lone Oak Restaurant, in the matter of allowable parking spaces. .This matter was resolved by, the Commission at their meeting October 17th, 1963 and this recommendation is therefore submitted to City Council for their review and action." Councilman Cooper: I so move this variance be granted. Motion seconded by Councilman Bergmann. Upon call for vote all members present voted to approve the motion. Councilmen Johnson and Klock being absent. Mayor Woodard On the police automobile; wecalledKnauss Chevrolet and I went to see Del Ball Ford. Dodge said_a V-8 would cost $84,00 more. The revised bid from Del Bail Ford to us will be net $1943.83 . _Councilman Cooper: I think that Ford is the one we should take. I"so move we accept Mr. Ball's 'quotation and ,purchase the Ford Police Special for $1943:83. Motion seconded;by;Councilman Bergmann. Upon call for vote the following 'tally was recorded. Councilman Cooper voting AYE; Councilman Bergmann voting AYE and Mayor Woodard voting AYE. This was unanimous vote of all members;present; Councilman Johnson and Councilman Klock being absent. ' There was a short discussion about the library report and a selection of five .(5,) persons for the Library Board. No action required by Council. Mayor Woodard: We will now have the reading of the Traffic Ordinance No. 63-15 being "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC IN THE CITY OF TI GARD,''PROVIDING'`PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES Nos. .62-21, ;62-22 and 62-25: The reading of this Ordinance, being accomplished in its entirety, 26 ,pages was shared by,Mayor Woodard and Recorder Symons. After' the complete reading the Ordinance was then read by;Title :only;by 'the Recorder. Attorney Anderson sug- gested the passage of this Ordinance should be done at the next regular meeting. Council was in agreement. Councilman Cooper moved we adjourn, seconded by Mayor Woodard and approved by members present. ' Adjournment was taken at 9:00 P. M.
