Resolution No. 11-18-A CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON TIGARD CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 11- /?-/1 A RESOLUTION RENEWING THE CITY OF TIGARD'S MEMBERSHIP IN THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CONSORTIUM WHEREAS, the Washington County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)Program is funded by the federal Department of Housing and Community Development and administered by the county Office of Community Development;and WHEREAS, the primary objective of the federal CDBG Program is the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low and moderate income;and WHEREAS, the Washington County Consortium is a cooperation of units of local government under the authority of Washington County who have joined together to meet the criteria for an urban county in order to qualify to receive funds under the CDBG Program;and WHEREAS, the City of Tigard has been a member of this Consortium for more than 30 years and wishes to continue its membership;and WHEREAS, the current intergovernmental agreement establishing the Washington County CDBG Consortium expires at the end of the current fiscal year;and WHEREAS, Washington County has prepared a revised renewal agreement that incorporates federally required amendments to the existing agreement. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that: SECTION 1: The City of Tigard desires to continue its participation in the Washington County CDBG Consortium and authorizes the Mayor to sign the revised IG A to extend its membership. SECTION 2: This Agreement shall remain in effect for three Fiscal Years commencing July 1, 2012, and ending June 30,2015,which shall constitute the urban county qualification period.
