RESOLUTION NO. 10- C(p
A RESOLUTION DEACTIVATING THE TRANSPORTATION FINANCING STRATEGIES
TASK FORCE,ACKNOWLEDGING ITS ACCOMPLISHMENTS,THANKING THE TASK
FORCE MEMBERS FOR THEIR SERVICE,AND COMMENDING THEM FOR A JOB WELL
DONE.
WHEREAS, the Transportation Financing Strategies Task Force was reconstituted by Council Resolution
No. 09-01 to continue the nussion of exploring feasible funding strategies for design and construction of
major transportation unprovennents, construction and maintenance of sidewalks,and maintenance and
operation of the City's streets, signal light and traffic signal systems;and
WHEREAS, the Task Force was actively involved in the public process developed for the proposed Street
Maintenance Pee rate increases by participating in a series of meetings to receive input from citizens and the
business community regarding the proposed increases;and
WHEREAS, the public outreach process culminated in a Task Force recommendation to City Council for
adoption of the proposed rates;
WHEREAS, the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) was formed by Council Resolution No. 09-14
to act as an advisory body to the City Council and staff and to provide a venue for citizen input and
awareness of transportation issues; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the TAC formation is to consolidate the efforts of various ad hoc committees
and task fomes under a permanent cotnnaittee organized to address transportation-related matters; and
WHEREAS, die formation of the TAC allows the Task Force to be deactivated and its mission assumed by
a subcommittee of the TAC;and
WHEREAS, City Council would like to drank the Task Force members for then service and commend them
for their efforts in die public outreach for the proposed Street Maintenance Fee increases.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: Tine City Council hereby deactivates die Task Force, thanks the Task Force members listed
on the attached Exhibit"A" for their dedication,perseverance, tine,effort and work
provided dining the past year, and commends them for a job well done.
SECTION 2: This resolution is effective iranediately upon passage.
