SOLUTIO NO. 09-
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION FOR
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTING SIDEWALK AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS
ALONG PORTIONS OF SW HALL AND KNOLL STREETS
WHEREAS, Community Partners for Affordable Housing has received land use approval to construct a 48-
unit senior housing project on a one acre site in Tigard,and
WHEREAS, all units will be affordable for individuals and households earning less than 50% of area inedian
incor3ne5 and
WHEREAS, the installation of sidewalks and associated improvernents is a condition of the project's land use
approval;and
WHEREAS, these improvements are identified in an application for federal Commu dty Block Grant funds,
and
WHEREAS, these improvements meet the national and county Community Development Black Grant
objective of serving persons having lose and moderate incomes;and
WHERE-AS,Wasl3ington Count=will receive an estimated tcvo million for fiscal year 2009/10, for which nine
cities,the county,and various non-profit agencies will compete forthe funding of eligible projects.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RE by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City of Tigard hereby e presses its support for making improvements to SW Hall and
Knoll Streets and authorizes submission of an application for federal assistance.
SECTION 2; This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
