A RESOLUTION TO REFLECT UPON AND AC14-NO ILE-DGE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
MARTHA ELIZABETH CALLAN BISHOP TO THE CITY OF TIGARD COMMUNITY
WHEREAS on the 17'x' day of September 2009, death brought to a close the active life of Martha Elizabeth
Callan Bishop,and
WHEREAS, Martha Elizabeth Callan Bishop; through her enthusiasm and hundreds of hours of volunteer
service, earned rhe affection of the people in the City of Tigard community,and
WHE REAS, on July 27, 1999, the City of Tigard honored Martha Bishop along with I en Scheckla for their
years of dedication to the community by naming the multi-purpose building at Cooly Park the, Bislxap-Sc1)eckla
Allulti-Puoose Shelter(Resolution No. 99-57).
WHEREAS, Martha Elizabeth Callan Bishop participated in the following City of Tigard committees, task
forces and endeavors.
• Neighborhood Planning Organization No. 3
• Central Citizen Involvement Team
• Water Advisory Task Force
• Pant&Recreation Task Force
• Community Character and Quality of Life Vision Action Planning Committee
• Downtown Task Force
• Traffic Management Con-a-nittee
NOW,THERE,FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council.that:
SECTIO 1: The Mayor and City Council of the City of Tigard, do hereby recognize the numerous
cot nunity contributions by Martha Elizabeth Callan Bishop and that her passing is a distinct
loss to the City of Tigard.
SECTION 2: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
