RE SOLUTION NO. 09-6--
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCL REQUESTING THAT TIE WASHRNGTON
COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REMOVE LAND WITHN n-m TIGARD CITY LIMITS
FROM CP04B AND C O4M AND CONSIDER CREATION OF C PO4T MAKING PROVISION
FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER OF PROPERTIES TO CP04T AS THEY ARE ANNEXED TO
TIGARD CITY LIMITS
VAHEREAS, the Washington County Burd of Commissioners adopted Resolution &Order 86-5 on June 3,
1986 to adopt a Citizen Participation Policy for Washington County and providing for its implementation,
including establishing Citizen Participation Organizations;and
WHEREAS,the Catyof Tigard is divided into CP04B and C'04M and
Wf-iEREAS,the Scope of Activities defined for C POs includes "Advise and consult with the County Board of
Commissioners on matters affecting the livability of the community";and
WHEREAS,Neighborhood Associations may also be recognized as a substructure of the CPO progrum;and
VA-IEREAS, the boundary of CPO#2 is nearly coterminous with the City of Beaverton's Neighborhood
Association boundaries,and
WIEREAS, up to two representatives of the City of Beaverton's C corm ittee for Citizen Involvement (CCS)
can be recognized as members of the County's CCS;and
EREAS,the City of Tigard has an active M and Neighborhood Network Program; and
W�EREAS, Tigard. City Council recognizes the importance of direct communication between Tigard citizens
and their county government to represent their common interests.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The Tigard City Council respectfully requests that the Washington County Board of
Commissioners initiate the process to remove land within the Tigard city limits from CP04B
and.CP04M and create CP04T.
SECTION 2; The Tigard City Council respectfully requests that the Washington County Board of
Commissioners include a provision for automatic transfer of properties from their former
CPO to C PO4T in the case of`future annexation to the City of Tigard.
