A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A TRANSPORTATION GROWTH
I
MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT PROPOSAL TO FINANCE A GREENWAY TRAILS
MASTERPLAN
)WI-EREAS, Oregon Department of Transportation and the Department of Land Conservation and
Development are accepting applications for the Transportation and Growth. Management Granit
Program w1iich these agencies jointly administer, and
WF EREAS, the City of Tigard desires to participate in this grant program to the greatest extent
possible as a means of carrying out locally important transportation and land use planning activities;
and
WHEREAS,Tigard City Council Goal No. 1 calls for the City to"Implement the Comprehensive Plan",and
—MREAS,Comprehensive Plan Recommended Action Measure 8.2.i calls for the City to "complete a
trail master plan to guide the development of the trail system and facilitate;progress toward its
conxpletion"; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project would fulfill this action measure; and,
VAAEREAS, preparation of a Greenway Trail Master Plan is an eligible activity under the
Transportation and:Growth Management Giant Pro ;and
WFIEREAS, the total estimated cost of developing the plan is $109,000, with the City contributing
$17,000 of that amount in the farm of"in-bind contributions.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED bythe Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its st pport for the preparation of a Greenway Ti-A
Master Plan and authorizes submission of an application for Transportation Growth
Management funding assistance.
SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide $17,000 (16%) toward the total cost of the project in
the form of in-bind contributions
