A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE WASHINGTON COUNTY RESPONSE PLAN TO SENATE
BILL 111
WHEREAS, the 2007 Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill 111 requiring that a planning authority in each
county develop a plan meeting specific criteria addressing the use of deadly force by police officers;and
WHEREAS, the Washington County Sheriff and the District Attorney co-chaired a planning committee that
developed a draft plan;and
WHEREAS, the law requires that the governing body of each law enforcement agency in the county approve
the plan;and
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard's existing use of deadly force policy meets and exceeds the requirements of
Senate Bill 111.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The draft plan as submitted meets the requirements of Senate Bill 111 and is approved by the
Tigard City Council.
SECTION 2: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
