TIGARD CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION NO. 07- 1-7
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A TRANSPORTATION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT
GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE TIGARD TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM PLAN UPDATE
WHEREAS, Tigard City Council Goal No.1, Comprehensive Plan, emphasizes the completion of an
update of the blueprint for the City; and
WHEREAS, Tigard City Council Goal No.3, Aggressively pursue funding to correct traffic congestion
within the City, emphasizes the identification of specific solutions to alleviate congestion in the
community; and
WHEREAS, preparation of the Tigard TSP Update is eligible for the State's Transportation and
Growth Management (TGM) grant program, which provides funding to local governments in Oregon
to carry out transportation and land use planning activities; and.
WHEREAS, the requested grant amount is $150,000 and the City is responsible for providing 11
percent of that amount in local matching funds.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its support for the preparation of a Tigard TSP
Update and authorizes submission of a TGM grant application for State funding
assistance during the 2007-2009 biennium.
SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide 11 percent local match of the grant funds in the form
of staff time and materials during the 2007-2009 biennium.
SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
