TIGARD QTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION NO. 07-
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A TRANSPORTATION GROWTH
MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT PROPOSAL TO FINANCE A MULTI-MODAL
PATHWAYS PLAN
WHEREAS, Oregon Departments of Transportation and Land Conservation and Development are
accepting applications for the Transportation and Growth Management Grant Grant Program, which
program these agencies jointly administer, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard desires to participate in this grant program to the greatest extent
possible as a means of carrying out locally important transportation and land use planning activities;
and
WHEREAS, Tigard City Council Goal No. 3 calls for the City to aggressively pursue funding to
correct traffic congestion within the City; and
WHEREAS, preparation of a multi-modal pathway plan to provide for more direct pedestrian and
bicycle travel within the City has been proposed in response to this goal; and
WHEREAS,preparation of a multi-modal pathway plan is an eligible activity under the Transportation
and Growth Management Grant Program,and
WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of developing the plan is $59,000.00, with the City contributing
$9,000.00 of that amount in the form of mi kind contributions.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED bythe Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its support for the preparation of a Multi Modal
Pathway Plan and authorizes submission of an application for Transportation Growth
Management funding assistance.
SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide $9,000.00 (15%) toward the total cost of the project in
the fon-n of in kind contributions.
SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
