RESOLUTION NO. 05-35
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A TRANSPORTATION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT
GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE HIGHWAY 99W CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT AND
MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS,Tigard City Council Goal No. 2,Improve 99W, emphasizes the identification of specific
solutions to alleviate congestion on the highway; and
WHEREAS,preparation of the Highway 99W Corridor Improvement and Management Plan has been
proposed in response to this goal; and
WHEREAS,preparation of the Highway 99W Corridor Improvement and Management Plan is eligible
for the State's TGM(Transportation and Growth Management) grant program,which provides funding
to local governments in Oregon to carry out transportation and land-use planning activities; and
WHEREAS,the total estimated cost of the project is $200,000 and the City is responsible for providing
twelve (12)percent of that amount in local matching funds.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its support for the preparation of a Highway 99W
Corridor Improvement and Management Plan and authorizes submission of a TGM
grant application for State funding assistance.
SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide twelve(12)percent of the total cost of the project in
local matching funds and has reserved sufficient funding in the Fiscal Year 2005-06
Capital Improvement Program to meet that requirement.
SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
