RESOLUTION NO.04-ZZ27
A RESOLUTION TO ACKNOWLDEGE COMPLETION OF THE NEW LIBRARY RESOURCE
TEAM, TO THANK MEMBERS FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION AND TO TERMINATE THE
RESOURCE TEAM
WHEREAS,Tigard voters passed Ballot Measure 34-47 on May 21,2002,authorizing a$13-million-dollar
bond measure to purchase land and build a two-story,47,000-square-foot library facility,and
WHEREAS,Tigard citizens have actively provided feedback during the design and construction of the new
library as members of the New Tigard Library Resource Team,and
WHEREAS,new library construction has been completed and the library is open,and
WHEREAS,the building reflects Tigard by incorporating many features suggested by Tigard citizens
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council acknowledges the successful completion of the New Library Resource
Team's mission and commends its members for their commitment to the creation of a
new library that Tigard can be proud of.
SECTION 2: The City Council thanks George Burgess,Sue Carver,David Chapman, Brian Douglas,
Elaine Heras,Lonn Hoklin, Sharon Maroney, Joyce Patton,Kathy Sleeger and Curtis
Tigard for their hard work,dedication,expertise and enthusiasm as members of the New
Library Resource Team.
SECTION 3: The New Library Resource Team is hereby terminated.
SECTION 4: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
