Resolution No. 04-26 CITY OF TIGARD,OREGON RESOLUTION NO.04- o?CO A RESOLUTION GRANTING AN EXEMPTION FROM PROPERTY TAXES UNDER TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.50 FOR THREE NON-PROFIT LOW INCOME HOUSING PROJECTS OWNED AND OPERATED BY COMMUNITY PARTNERS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING. WHEREAS,Tigard Municipal Code section 3.50 provides procedures for application and consideration ofnon profit corporation low income housing projects exemption from property taxes,and, WHEREAS,the code requires applications for exemption be filed with the City by March 1 and to be processed by the City within 30 days,and WHEREAS,Community Partners for Affordable Housing,a qualified Non Profit Corporation,filed a request dated April 1, 2004 for exemption from property taxes under TMC section 3.50 for three low income housing projects and meets all applicable criteria for exemption,and WHEREAS,it is appropriate to waive the application deadline established in TMC 3.50 to allow Community Partners for Affordable Housing to be considered for a property tax abatement despite missing the March 1 deadline to avoid any negative consequences for affordable housing in Tigard. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that: SECTION 1: The application deadline for affordable housing property tax abatement approval from the City of Tigard established by Tigard Municipal Code 3.50.040 is waived for 2004. SECTION 2: The applicant,Community Partners for Affordable Housing,qualifies for the exemption set forth in Tigard Municipal Code section 3.50. SECTION 3: The Finance Director is directed to certify to the Assessor of Washington County that the City of Tigard agrees to the abatement of property taxes for the following three properties: a. Village at Washington Square,11157—11163 SW Hall Blvd.,Tigard b. Single family home located at 9330 SW Tangela Ct.,Tigard c.
