A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXCELLENT
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY SERVICE RENDERED BY EDWARD(ED)WEGNER,CITY
OF TIGARD DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS FROM JANUARY 1994 TO FEBRUARY 2004
WHEREAS,Ed Wegner served the citizens of the City of Tigard as Director of Public Works for 10
years;and
WHEREAS,during his tenure with the City,Ed Wegner oversaw the major expansion of Cook Park,
the addition of Bonita Park and Northview Park to the City's park system,and major improvements in
Summerlake Park and Woodard Park;and
WHEREAS,Ed Wegner served as the City's Emergency Manager with responsibility for developing
and testing the City's Emergency Operations Plan;and
WHEREAS,Ed Wegner was instrumental in keeping the City focused in pursuing a long-term water
source, initiating a strong water conservation program, and introducing the aquifer storage recovery
program.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: On the occasion of Ed Wegner's resignation from this municipality after 10 years of
faithful service, it is appropriate for the City of Tigard to extend its grateful
appreciation to Ed Wegner for his dedication to providing the best possible public
service to the City of Tigard.
SECTION 2: The Tigard City Council adopts this resolution in recognition of the meritorious
services rendered by Ed Wegner.
SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
