RESOLUTION NO.04-Of
A RESOLUTION GRANTING AN EXEMPTION FROM COMPETITIVE BIDDING UNDER LOCAL
CONTRACT REVIEW BOARD ADMINISTRATIVE RULE 80.015 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF
SHELVING AND RELATED FURNITURE&FIXTURES FOR THE NEW LIBRARY,
WHEREAS, the shelving used to house the collections will be a prominent piece of the new Tigard
Library's overall interior design,look,and feel;and
WHEREAS,due to the prominence of the shelving, selection of type of shelving used is critical to the
successful opening of the Library;and
WHEREAS, the City's Architect for the project, SRG Partnership, strongly recommends Spacesaver
Library Shelving which is sold through Krueger International;and
WHEREAS,a contract exists between Oregon State University and Krueger International that includes the
Spacesaver Shelving;and
WHEREAS, through cooperative language contained in the contract, the City is eligible to purchase
through the agreement,and
WHEREAS, time is of the essence on a fast-track project such as the Library and the City will save
valuable time and receive competitive pricing by purchasing though the contract;and
WHEREAS,the use of the contract requires an exemption under Administrative Rule 80.015;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Local Contract Review Board that:
SECTION 1: An exemption under Administrative Rule 80.015 is granted for the purchase of
Spacesaver Library Shelving and related furniture&fixtures.
SECTION 2: Staff is directed to utilize the existing contract between Oregon State University and
Krueger International for the shelving and related in the best interest of the City.
SECTION 3: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
