RESOLUTION NO. 02- C)-k
A RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A GRANT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $39,999 FROM METRO AND THE US FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FANNO CREEK PARK ENHANCEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS,in June 2001,the City prepared an enhancement plan for Fanno Creek that calls for removal of
non-native vegetation, planting native plant materials, and conducting biannual monitoring to restore and
enhance the health of the stream corridor, and
WHEREAS,Metro and the US Fish and Wildlife agency are soliciting proposals for grants for projects that
conserve,restore, and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitat in the Portland/Vancouver area, and
WHEREAS, City staff have prepared an application for a grant of$39,999 and a city match of$68,008 for
a total project of$108,007 over six years to fund the Fanno Creek Park Enhancement Plan.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: An application for a grant of$39,999 from Metro and the US Fish and Wildlife Department to
fund the Fanno Creek Park Enhancement Plan is hereby authorized for submittal.
SECTION 2: If the grant is awarded, staff is directed to return to Council for the necessary appropriations
adjustments to authorize expenditure of the grant.
