A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL REAPPOINTING GEORGE BURGESS AND
SYDNEY SHERWOOD TO THE BUDGET COMMITTEE, REAPPOINTING SUSAN KASSON TO
THE LIBRARY BOARD,APPOINTING GARY JOHNSON AND JAN THENELL TO THE LIBRARY
BOARD,AND APPOINTING JEFFREY LAWTON AS AN ALTERNATE TO THE LIBRARY BOARD
WHEREAS,the Budget Committee terms of George Burgess and Sydney Sherwood both expire June 30,
2001,and
WHEREAS,Mr.Burgess is interested in continuing to serve,and is eligible for one more consecutive tern
on the Budget Committee under Resolution 95-59,and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sherwood is interested in continuing to serve on the Budget Committee, having
completed the term originated by Darlene Stevens,and
WHEREAS,Susan Kasson is interested in continuing to serve on the Library Board,and is eligible for one
more consecutive term under Resolution 95-59,and
WHEREAS, Gary Johnson, Jan Thenell, and Jeffrey Lawton have expressed interest in serving on the
Library Board,and
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Appointments Advisory Committee interviewed all of the above-named
applicants on May 29,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTIONI: George Burgess and Sydney Sherwood are reappointed to the Budget Committee for terms
that expire on June 30,2004,and
SECTION 2: Susan Kassou is reappointed to the Library Board for a.term that expires on June 30,2005,
and

a SECTION 3: Gary Johnson and Jan Thenen are appointed to initial 4-year terms on the Library Board.
Both these terms will expire on June 30,2005.

SECTIOR 4: Jeffrey Lawton is appointed to a 2-year term as an alternate on the Library Board. This term
will expire on June 30,2003,or earlier if he is appointed to complete a term vacated by
any current Library Board member.
