A RESOLUTION IN'-,TIATING ACTION TO TRANSFER JURISDICTION OF CERTAIN
COUNTY ROADS WITHIN THE CITY OF TIGARD TO THE CITY OF TIGARD.
WHEREAS,ORS 373.270(6)provides a mechanism to transfer jurisdiction of County Roads within a
® City to a City,and
:tint a rA --- e--ofdecianing and constructing the realignment of
SW Wahult Street at its intersections with SW Tiedeman Avenue and SW Fonner Street;and
WHEREAS,properties adjacent to SW Johnson Street and SW 106'Drive have annexed to the City;and I
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard is in the process of initiating a Sewer Reimbursement District to install
sanitary sewer lines along SW Johnson Street and SW i06'Drive to serve the residents in that area;and
'WHEREAS the portions of SW Walnut Street,SW Tiedeman Avenue,SW Fonner Street,SW Johnson
Street and SW 106`'Drive lying within ine proposed prcjccts are within the City of Tigard but are currently I
under Washington County jurisdiction;and
WHEREAS,the City can more expeditiously manage the design and construction of both projects if the

WHERE,she City of Tigard has determined it necessary,expedient and for the best interests of the City
to acquire jurisdiction over those aforementioned County Roads,or part thereof,to the same extent as it has
over other public streets and alleys of the City.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby requests that the Commissioners of Washington County,
Oregon transfer jurisdiction of those County Roads,described and depicted in Exhibits
"A'and"B"attached hereto,to the City of Tigard;said request to be granted or denied
within one
