A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE TUALATIN RIVER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE P?uORTIES 2000
GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Tigard Park Plan identifies a proposed bike/pedestrian bridge crossing of the Tualatin
River in the proximity of the Portland&Western Railroad Inc.line;and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into discussions with the City of Tualatin, City of Durham, Oregon
Department of Transportation and Portland & Western Railroad, Inc. concerning development of a
pedestrian bridge to Iink Tigard's Cook Park, Tualatin's Community Park, Durham City Park using the
existing railroad bridge;and
WHEREAS, the City has budgeted $50,000 in local share greenspace funds to conduct feasibility and
design studies for the bike/pedestrian bridge;and
WHEREAS,the Priorities 2000 Project is a potential source of funds to implement construction of the
bike/pedestrian bridge;and
WHEREAS,the City of Tualatin and City of Durham have endorsed a bridge construction Priorities 2000
Project application;and
WHEREAS,the Oregon Parks,-nd Recreation Department supports the bike/pedestrian bridge project.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council endorses the Tualatin River Pedestrian Bridge Priorities 2000 Grant
Application submitted to Metro for project technical ranking aad funding.
