A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TIGARD APPROVING THE BUDGET, MAKING APPROPRIATIONS, DECLARING THE
AD VALOREM TAX LEVY AND CASSIFYING THE LEVY AS PROVIDED BY ORS 310.060(2) FOR FISCAL YEAR

WHEREAS, the budget for the City of Tigard for the year beginning July 1, 1998 was duly
approved and recjmmended to the City Counc.1 by the regularly constituted budget committee at
it's meeting on June 1, 1998, after proceedings in accordance with Chapter 294, Oregon Revised
Statutes; and
WHEREAS, a summary of the budget document as required by Chapi.er 294.416 was duly published in
the Tigard Times, a newspaper of general circulation in th^ City in accordance with Chapter
94.421; and
WHEREAS, a hearing by the Tigard City Council on the budget document, as approved b: the budget
committ=e, was duly called and held on June 23, 1958, whereat all interested persons were
afforded an opportunity to appear and be heard with respect to the budget..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: The Council adopts the budget for 1998/99 in the total sum of $ 56,597,953.
Section 2: The Council adopts and hereby incorporates by reference in this resolution the
following:
• 1996-99 Agreement between the City of Tigard and Tigard Police Officers Association dated
March 31, 1997.
• 1998-01 Agreement between the City of Tigard and Tigard Municipal Employee's Association
(OPEU) (Awaiting ratification).
• 1998/99 Estimated Salary/Job Classification pay plan for non represented employees as set
forth in the 1998/99 proposed budget appendix. (Although a 3.0 percent cost of living
adjustment has been included in the budget as an estimate, the Council has not yet approved
a cost of living adjustment for non represented employees).
Section 3: The appropriations for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998 are approved as
shown in the attached Exhibit A.
Section 4: The City of Tigard City Council hereby levies property taxes for the general fund
at the City's permanent rate of $2.5131 per thousand dollars of assessed value. The City
Council also hereby levies $1,689,068 for debt service. The above mentioned taxes are hereby
levied upon all taxable property within the district as of July 1, 1998. The following
allocation and categorization subject to the limits of section llb, Article XI of the Oregon
Constitution constitute the above aggregate levy:
