A RESOLUTION BY CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING THE I-5i13WY 217 ROAD PROJECT
WIEREAS, transportation is one of the fundamental components of a healthy economy and business
environment;and
WIEREAS,the 1-5/1-Iwy 217/Kruse Way Interchange is a critical component of the transportation system
serving the region and the City of Tigard and its environs;and,
WHEREAS,the current I-5/Hwy 217/Kruse Way interchange is obsolete and constitutes a hazard to safety
and an impediment to efficient flow of traffic and commerce;and,
WHEREAS,the Tigard City Council believes that it would be in the interests of the citizens of the State of
Oregon not only to expedite completion of Phase I of the 1-5/Hwy 217/Kruse Way project, but also to
promptly fund and construct all phases of the project;and,
WHEREAS,the Tigard City Council wishes to indicate its suppert for immediate and complete modernization
of the I-5/Hwy 217/Kruse Way interchange.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
ANN SECTION 1: All concerned governmental agencies fund and complete modernization of the I-5/Hwy
217/Kruse Way interchange as soon as possible;
SECTION 2: This resolution will communicate the City of Tigard's support for the I-5/Hwy 217 road
project to the Governor of the State of Oregon, appropriate state legislators and
congressional delegation,and all governmental organizations.
