RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL
'ASSISTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTING SIDEWALKS AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS ON VARIOUS
STREETS WITHIN LOW-MODERATE INCOME AREAS OF THE CITY. a
WHEREAS, segments of SW 91 st Ave.,Garrett St.,Lincoln Ave.,Cornmercial St.,`Thom St.,92nd Ave.,and '� St

North Dakota St.were constructed without curbs,sidewalks,and/or drainage facilities;and s^i'?
WHEREAS,the installation of a sidewalk or bikepath and/or drainage improvements along one side of these j z
..street segments would improve neighborhood quality and safety conditions for children and other pedestrians

WHEREAS,improvements to SW 91 st Ave.,Garrett St.,Lincoln Ave., Commercial St.,Thom St.,92nd Ave.
.and North Dakota St.are defined in separate applications for federal Community Development Block Grant

WHEREAS, these improvements meet the national and county Community Development Block Grant 4',Fv"-
objective of serving persons having low and moderate incomes; `

WHEREAS,Washington County will receive an estimated one million dollars per year for the next three years x`r ,x,.y
for which eleven cities,the county,and various non-profit agencies will complete for the funding of various Y a�
projects.

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
�" SECTION 1: the City of Tigard,Oregon,based on the aforementioned considerations,hereby expresses its
support for making improvements to SW 91st Ave.-Garrett St.;Lincoln Ave.,Commercial
1 St.,Thorn St-,92nd Ave.,and North Dakota St.,and authorizes submission of applications 4,
for federal assistance.
