A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO SIGN,ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY, AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE TIGARDn-UALATIN SCHOOL .
i � DISTRICT REGARDING A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT SW 79TH AVENUE AND SW DURHAM ROAD *'
WHEREAS, the District and City each desire to participate in funding the construction of a traffic signal at 4
a -the comer of SW 79th and SW Durham Road. The traffic capital improvement was suggested to the
District and City by area residents;and t req"
z WHEREAS,on June 11,1996 the Tigard City Council adopted a budget including a capital improvement ,.
s project for fiscal year 1996-97- The budget authorized $49,289 for the City portion of the cost of
installation of a traffic signal on Durham Road at 79th Avenue;and s-

WHEREAS,on May 21,1996 electors in the District approved a bond measure for which an amount not to
exceed$50,000 could be utilized to pay for up to fifty percent(50%)of the direct costs for the purchase t er
and installation on Durham Road at 79th Avenue.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that: c

SECTION 1: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Administrator to sign, on behalf of the
City, an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Tigard/Tualatin School District as
shown in attached Exhibit"A."
