RESJLUTION NO. 41-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO
ESTABLISH TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS ALONG MAIN STREET DURING CONSTRUCTION
OF THE MAIN STREET BRIDGE REPLACEMENT.
_. WHEREAS, the City Council has previously authorized replacement of the Main
Street bridge over Fanno Creek; and,
WHEREAS, in order to provide safe access and work area for construction
equipment during construction of the bridge replaceinant, it is necessary to
prohibit parking near the bridge; and,
WHEREAS, parking restrictions will reduce the availability of short-term
parking to serve the nearby businesses; and,
LI.- City uouncii wishes to assure that parking remains available to
serve the needs of the nearby businesses, including parking for short-term
needs; and,
WHEREAS, the specific parking requirements may change periodically during the
construction project, in accordance with the various phases of construction;
and,
WHEREAS, T.M.C_ 10,32.010 provides that the City Council may designate parking
restrictions by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section l: The City Engineer is authorized to designate areas of Main Street
within 250 feet of Fanno Creek where special parking restrictions
apply during construction of the Main Street bridge replacement.
The parking restrictions may include prohibition of all parking
or specific time limits for parking duration. The parking
restrictions shall be effective upon installation of appropriate
signing as authorized by the City Engineer.
Section 2: The authority granted by this resolution shall expire upon
completion of the Main Street bridge replacement project.
