A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY ODUt4CIL INCREASING GAFMGE RATES DUE TO
DISPOSAL SITE FEE INCREASES
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Service District (Metro) has announced solid waste
disposal fee increases at dump sites of $10.25 per ton effective July 1, 1990;
and,
h11EVd7LS, TKC Section 11.04.090(c) provides that increases in charges to the
solid waste disposal frarvAiises for disposal site fees imposed by a
gave n ve tol agency may be included in cxnsumer rates estak lisped by resolution
provided they are evenly distributed among the rates; and,
WHIF.EAS, each member of the Utility and Franchise C cnuSttee has reviewed the
proposed rate schedule prepared by the Finance Director which adjusts the rates
for the metro cfsv fee increase; and,
WHEREAS, the reccumbended rates will result in increases of $.75 per can per
month for residential accounts, $4.44 per yard of loose material and $11.09 per
yard of compacted material; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for prompt action to ensure a
timely pass through of this government agency imp or-crating east increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City coil that:
Section 1: The Tigard City Council hereby approves an increase in the current
garbage rates to reflect a ccnplete pass through of increased metro
garbage disposal site fees, to be effective July 1, 1990. Said
increases are reflected in the attached ngbibit "A."
