A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE: ]HE BUYOUT Of A PORIIOM Of THE CITICORP LEASE AND I0
APPROPRIATE CONTINGENCY FOR THAT PURPOSE
WHEREAS, Geogroup, the softwat -� vendor intends-d to provide geobased mapping
software for- the Community Development Department haz: failed to perform on its
contract, and
WHEREA£:, it appears that other competing vendors provide similar- software on
PC compatible computer equ'r.ment rather than on Burroughs equipment, and
WHLREAS, if title to the exist.iny Burroughs microcomputer cr3uipment were:
acquired through a partial buyout of the Citicorp lease, a trade of such
equipment could be t•�ansacted between the City and Burrouu . for PC compatible
equipments without further cost to the City, and
WHEREAS, such a partial buyout of the Citicorp lease would cost approximately
$45,000, and the remaining lease payments would be redejced accordingly, and
WHEREAS, such funds are included in the 5--Year Plan. -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVFD by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: the partial buyoit of the lease for computer equipment: with
Citicorp is hereby approved.
Section 2: A trade with Burroughs (UNISYS) in which certain B20
microcomputer equipment is traded fur UNISYS PC compatible
equipment. with no cost to the City is hereby approved.
Section 3: $30,000 is brought forward from year 4 and 5 of the 5-Year Plan
and is hereby appropriated as follows:
