RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE TI:GARD CITY COUNCIL_ AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO
SIGN A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING, CLARIFYING LANGUAGE IN 1-11F OREGON PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES UNION (OPEU) CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, during negotiations in the spring of 1987, the City and OPEU agreed
on Blue Cross Plan II/Pref-erred Provider Option as the City-paid plan for OPEU
members; and
WHEREAS, the City and OPEU thought members wanting higher coverage could
choose Blue Cross Plan IV--A/Pr•ef(,rr-ed Provider Option and contain their
out--of--pocket: costs to the 1986-87 rates; and
WHEREAS, Blue Cross Plan IV--A/Preferred Provider Option was not available as
assumed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigar-d City Council that:
Section 1: The City of Tigard and OPFU wish to sign a letter of understanding
clarifying the language of the OPEU Contract allowing medical benefits to
those members who have opted for Blue Cross Plan IV-A for the balance of the
1987--88 fiscal year, (through June 30, 1988), as memor-ialized in the attached
letter.
�. Section _?.: The City Administrator is hereby authorized to sign a letter of
understanding clarifying the language of the Conte-act when said letter is
signed by OPEL) representatives.
